Segurar, dar, receber

To hold, to give, to receive

The theme of Anozero’26 emerges from the root of the word ‘exhibition’,*ghabh. Its triple meaning is ‘to hold, to give, to receive’. Words like ‘habitat’ and ‘habitation’ stem from the same root. Giving and receiving are shared acts, and acts of sharing, as every gift requires a giver and a recipient. To hold, to give, to receive explores how gifts, giving and receiving, giving back, and giving forward take shape in art and architecture. This biennial, which addresses generosity, symbiosis, mutual aid, and hospitality, is about sharing in art and architecture, and, ultimately, about what it means to share the world.
