Luisa Cunha
Luisa Cunha (Lisbon, 1949) is a Portuguese artist who lives and works in Lisbon. She holds a degree in Germanic Philology from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon, and in 1994 attended the Advanced Sculpture Course at Ar.Co, Centro de Arte e Comunicação. That same year, she was an invited artist-in-residence at the 1st International Summer Academy for Visual Artists at the Convento da Arrábida, and between 1994 and 1997 she taught sculpture at Ar.Co. She has exhibited regularly since 1993, developing a practice marked by the relationship between language, space, and sensory experience. Her work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Portugal and abroad, including at institutions such as Museu de Serralves, Culturgest, and MAAT. She is represented by Galeria Miguel Nabinho, in Lisbon, and her work is held in various public and private collections.
