Juha Lilja

Juha Lilja

Juha Lilja (APN201) is a Finnish multidisciplinary artist working across film, sound, and digital media. Guided by the motto ‘Try everything’, his practice explores authorship, duration, and perception through experimentation rather than technical perfection. His works often combine accessible technologies with conceptual approaches, questioning how art is made, distributed, and experienced in a digital context. His eight-hour film Sleep (2013), which references Andy Warhol, reflects on time and spectatorship and was screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Lilja continues to develop process-based projects across a range of formats, from experimental cinema to AI-assisted works, while also working as an actor.
