Christian Andersson

Christian Andersson

Christian Andersson (b. 1973, Stockholm, Sweden) lives and works between Paris, France and Coimbra, Portugal. Drawing from history, popular culture and the canon of western civilization, Andersson is fusing together myths and given facts into something of a hybrid encyclopedia. Juxtaposing emotion and reason, he’s leaving a door open to the unprompted, impulsive and extemporaneous as legitimate paths towards the limbo he conjures out of truth’s fictions.

A selection of solo exhibitions of his work include: Hallands Konstmuseum, Halmstad and Borås Konstmuseum, Borås (both in Sweden, 2024/2025), FRAC Normandie, Rouen, France and CAV - Visual Arts Center, Coimbra, Portugal (both in 2022), Museum CIAJG, Guimarães, Portugal (2018), Kunstmuseum Thun, Thun, Switzerland (2015), as well as at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris, France and Moderna Museet, Malmö, Sweden (both 2011).

Em ‘Marrow’, Christian Andersson apresenta uma figura humana em gesso erguendo um hipercubo enquanto a luz que lhe sai do crânio ilumina a figura geométrica numa reflexão filosófica materializada a partir das condições lumínicas.
