Type: Performative game
Verbas de Pedras is a performative game derived from the project Que(m) sabe do que(m) sou feita, initiated in 2023 in Portugal, within the framework of the Crafting programme (@andlab.reparar). The proposal creates a collective experience in public space, in which body, language and matter are articulated through attention, listening and cooperation. The verb-words result from a pilgrimage through Portuguese cities, activating encounters, memory, colonial heritage and processes of sensitive repair through shared gesture.
Bete Esteves is an artist, designer and PhD holder in Visual Languages from UFRJ, where she also completed her master’s degree. Since 2018, she has developed transdisciplinary installation projects involving mechanisms, objects, photographs, drawings and videos. She engages with questions linked to the environments of exhibition spaces and other spaces her body moves through. By occupying unconventional places, she explores situations in which she becomes incorporated: in movement, she activates atmospheres, creates intimacy with worlds and possible modes of existence, expanding forms of relation with the environment. She is also a body of resistance, refusing gender qualifications and moving in a singular way throughout her working process.
