As part of the opening programme of Anozero’26, Biennial of Coimbra, Manifesto By Lyrics presents itself as a performance of collective and sensory dimension that brings together art, architecture and music.
Drawing on musical and lyrical references, the performance summons a set of voices that oscillate between the search, as in The Seeker, and the desire for transformation, where walls come tumbling down. Between tension and openness, resistance and possibility, a space for critical reflection on the present is constructed.
The architect and urban researcher Arno Brandlhuber introduces a reflection on the possibilities of the future through architecture, while Constanze Haas expands the project into a spatial and pictorial dimension, questioning the contexts in which it is inscribed.
In its sound component, Manuel de Villiers on bass, Jakob Deider on guitar, and Fernando Oliveira on drums build, in unison, a rhythmic foundation that runs through the entire performance, alternating between moments of openness, Open Arms, and tensions that reject dirty work.
Together, they construct Unwalling as a field of encounter between disciplines, a space where sound, body and architecture intersect, proposing a shared experience that questions limits, structures and ways of inhabiting the world.
