Hand to Hand explores an action of collective felting, drawing on an ancestral gesture that calls upon holding, giving and receiving as a material and relational practice.
Through touch, the repetition of gesture and collective work, participants build a common object, arising from the interdependence between bodies, matter and time.
The action proposes a temporary symbolic habitat-space, grounded in sharing and mutual support, activating Coimbra’s urban space as a site of encounter and collective experience.

Francisca Patrocínio is a Portuguese multidisciplinary artist based in Zurich, Switzerland. She develops her artistic practice both individually and collectively, extending it into curatorial, research and publishing practices. Her work explores the relationships between nature and culture, language and memory. She completed a Master’s degree in Fine Arts at ZHdK and a BA in Sculpture at FBAUP, and has exhibited in Portugal, Switzerland and Austria. She is co-founder of the independent art space Arsen33 and is part of the curatorial team of Kulturfolger, both in Zurich.
