Archives and Erasures
30 May
Type: Creative Lab
Archives and Erasures is a theoretical-practical creative lab which, based on the publication ADEUS PÁTRIA E FAMÍLIA (ainda) uma exposição (Aljube Museum, 2026), seeks to investigate processes of repression and forms of resistance related to sexual and gender diversity. Anchored in Gloria Anzaldúa’s concept of border art and bell hooks’s notion of visual politics, it aims to activate silenced memories and promote the development of counter-narratives in the present.
Hilda de Paulo is an artist, curator and researcher. She develops a transfeminist and transdisciplinary practice across painting, sculpture, performance and writing, addressing gender dissidence and decolonial perspectives. She is a PhD candidate at FLUP, in Porto, the author of Arquivo Gis, and her work is held in collections such as Serralves and the Akureyri Art Museum.
